For the 2025-2026 academic year, the Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program welcomes seven new scholars: four incoming first-years, who form the Integrity Cohort with faculty mentor Dr. Michael Anderson, and three rising sophomores, who form the Courage Cohort with faculty mentor Dr. Elida Lee. Each cohort will work with their faculty mentor to chart their course at UT within the values of the Dedman Academy, enjoying the fellowship and support of the other Dedman Scholars. This year there are 26 scholars in the program.
The Dedman Family founded the scholarship to give its recipients “the educational experience of a lifetime and the freedom to pursue their highest selves.” Reading their individual bios and reflections (linked below) will give you a fuller sense of what Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program is all about and how students are pursuing their dreams at UT and beyond.
