For the 2023-2024 academic year, the Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program welcomes seven new scholars: four incoming freshmen, who form the Conviction Cohort with faculty mentor Dr. Brandon Jones, and three rising sophomores, who form the Honor Cohort with faculty mentor Dr. Pilar Zazueta. Each cohort will work with their faculty mentor to chart their course at UT and will enjoy fellowship and support of the other Dedman Scholars. This year there are 30 scholars in the program.
The Dedman Family founded the scholarship to give its recipients “the educational experience of a lifetime and the freedom to pursue their highest selves.” Reading their individual bios and reflections (linked below) will give you a fuller sense of what Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program is all about and how students are pursuing their dreams at UT and beyond.
