CURRENT SCHOLARS

For the 2026-2027 academic year, the Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program welcomes eight new scholars: four incoming first-years, who form the Humility Cohort with faculty mentor Dr. Sarah Angulo, and four rising sophomores, who form the Honor Cohort with faculty mentor Dr. Stephanie Holmsten. Each cohort will work with their faculty mentor to chart their course at UT within the values of the Dedman Academy, enjoying the fellowship and support of the other Dedman Scholars. This year, there are 29 scholars in the program.

The Dedman Family founded the scholarship to give its recipients “the educational experience of a lifetime and the freedom to pursue their highest selves.” Reading their individual bios and reflections (linked below) will give you a fuller sense of what Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program is all about and how students are pursuing their dreams at UT and beyond.
